Working alongside our valued client, Sheffield-based Urbana, we recently prepared a Transport Statement to support a planning application for a new student residence in the centre of Sheffield. The proposals would see a former B2 industrial use converted to provide a car-free development, which benefits from easy access to the city centre and the facilities this encompasses, as well as both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.

Given that there is no dedicated parking being provided as part of the scheme, a key component of the TS related to the management of student drop-offs and pick-ups at the start and end of term, as well as facilitating deliveries and servicing. Our team was able to draw on our experiences elsewhere – not only of preparing reports for similar developments across the country, but also our first-hand involvement in delivering travel planning / transport management on the ground for a number of Universities (including the University of Sheffield, where we have an ongoing role).
