In 2018, we supported London South Bank University to develop a new Travel Plan Strategy for its staff and students, encompassing its central London and Havering campuses. The requirement for the Travel Plan had arisen as a consequence of a live planning application for the University’s new ‘St George’s Quarter’ development. The Travel Plan was developed in partnership with the University’s Estates Team, alongside other relevant departments (Sustainability, HR, IT, SU etc), ensuing all parties bought into the process and thus encouraging the success of the Travel lan at implementation stage.
Early in 2019 we were approached to provide additional support to the University; as part of the aforementioned development proposals there is a requirement to stop-up roads within the University, as well as a (short term) need to close roads to allow construction to take place behind a hoarding.
We have been able to complete the stopping up applications and temporary road closures (including suspension of parking bays) on behalf of the client, liaising with the DfT and various Council departments, as well as the project architects and development programme manager.
