Our team has recently assisted Persimmon Homes North East and Strata with Access Feasibility Studies for sites in Newcastle and Leeds, respectively, with a view to securing allocations in the Local Plan.
This has included demonstrating the likely high-level impacts of an indicative quantum of development being brought forwards, including road safety and highway capacity impacts, as well as confirming the access strategy (vehicles and other users), to illustrate that the site is readily accessible by non-car modes of travel, inline with the prevailing policy agenda.
In each case, we prepared preliminary access designs to show that these could be provided to standard.
