TPS were appointed by BNP Paribas to prepare an access strategy for Falcon Works in Loughborough; an industrial site with a long-standing history of train maintenance and production. With HGVs regularly visiting the site, a strategy to regulate the movement of vehicles around the site was needed, to improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
Members of our team attended site and met with the site manager in order to understand how things worked currently and the resultant issues, with a view to providing practical advice on how these might be overcome, with this then encapsulated in a formal strategy document which covered:
- Pedestrian and cycle access;
- Staff and visitor car parking;
- HGV access and routing (reflecting the introduction of a new one-way system within the site).
With the benefit of internal graphic design team, we were able to present the strategy as a user-friendly, non-technical document that could be included within the client’s Occupier Handbook.
