Increasingly our team is being asked to advise on developments with limited car parking, often coming up against Council’s that steadfastly apply outdated car parking standards that are at odds with the prevailing sustainable transport agenda.
Through a combination of our development planning and sustainable transport experience, we are ideally placed to assess the highways impacts of a development, whilst illustrating how access does not have to be reliant upon the car in many cases.
Most recently, planning permission was secured for a 114-dwelling residential development in Greater Manchester at a ratio of 54% of the required level of parking. TPS was able to make a successful argument around site accessibility and connectivity and local car ownership levels, resulting in a positive outcome for our client.
Our team is also experienced in developing car park management strategies, whether for residential or employment uses, to help you effectively manage car parking stock at existing or new developments.
