TPS has completed a 2-year support role to the Sustainability Team at Lancaster University. Having initially been appointed by the University in 2012 to undertake a travel survey programme, TPS were asked to provide on campus support to assist with the delivery of a range of transport, travel and car parking projects from 2017 – 2019.
TPS worked closely with the University’s sustainability team and led on a wide range of projects including the development of a carbon emission based car park sharing policy, Traffic Regulation Orders to restrict on street parking, a review of cycle storage, the development of a car park demand model, delivery of the 2019 travel survey and the enhancement of the discounted public transport scheme for staff commuting.
Since the end of the seconded role, TPS has continued to support the University with work to assess the carbon impact of overseas students travel to and from their family homes to campus.
